The Cancer Exercise Specialist Certification from CETI (Cancer Exercise Training Institute) is an in-depth program designed for fitness professionals, physical therapists, and allied health professionals who wish to specialize in working with cancer patients and survivors. This course provides you with the skills to create safe and effective exercise programs tailored to the unique needs of individuals diagnosed with various types of cancer, during and after treatment.

Pre-requisites: Basic fitness certification (e.g., personal training, group fitness, or similar qualification)
This is an online, self-paced course. All materials are delivered digitally – through a variety of digital mediums, including written material, video narrated slide presentations, videos of sample exercises, sample forms and more.
Comprehension of the material will be measured via a mandatory competency assessment requiring a minimum of 80% correct responses.

This certification course covers topics such as understanding cancer treatments and their effects on the body, the role of exercise in cancer recovery, and how to tailor exercise programs for cancer survivors. Participants will learn how to assess the physical capabilities of cancer patients, as well as strategies to address common side effects of cancer treatment like fatigue, muscle weakness, and reduced range of motion.
The course includes practical guidelines for modifying exercises, as well as how to help patients build strength, flexibility, and stamina safely. By the end of the course, professionals will be prepared to offer specialised services to clients facing cancer challenges.

- Prerequisites: This course is open to certified fitness professionals, physiotherapists, and healthcare providers.
- Renewal Requirements: Certification renewal is required every 2 years, and you must complete continuing education credits to maintain the qualification.
The Cancer Exercise Specialist Course is registered through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), providing valuable continuing education units (CEUs) for fitness professionals.
