Important — Level 1 is a Certificate of Completion
The OncoVie® Cancer Exercise Trainer Level 1 is a certificate course, not the OncoVie® Cancer Exercise Specialist Advanced Qualification.
Level 1 does not provide the same depth of education in cancer surgical procedures, treatment side effects, lymphedema management, clinical considerations or comprehensive assessment protocols included in the Advanced Qualification.
Completion of Level 1 does not qualify participants to use the title OncoVie® Cancer Exercise Specialist.
There are also no continuing education credits (CEUs/CECs) attached to Level 1.
This distinction provides professionals with a clear choice: begin with foundational cancer exercise programming or undertake the comprehensive Advanced Qualification when greater depth and specialist education are required.
Your Pathway to the Advanced Qualification
Level 1 provides a direct pathway into the OncoVie® Cancer Exercise Specialist Advanced Qualification – 15th Edition.
The Advanced Qualification expands considerably on the Level 1 foundations with:
Four comprehensive modules · 600+ pages · 26 cancer types plus pediatric oncology · Cancer biology and staging · Surgical procedures · Cancer treatments and side effects · Lymphedema · Comprehensive assessment · Individualized programming · Survivorship · Nutrition Science in Oncology · Continuing education recognition
Most importantly, if you decide to progress, the full amount paid for Level 1 is credited towards the Advanced Qualification.
This means you can begin building your knowledge now without losing your Level 1 investment should you choose to continue your oncology exercise education.
Pre-requisites
No previous oncology education is required.
The OncoVie® Cancer Exercise Trainer Level 1 course is designed for professionals who already work in health, fitness, exercise or a related field and want to develop foundational knowledge in cancer exercise programming.
Suitable participants may include:
Personal Trainers · Fitness Professionals · Exercise Professionals · Pilates Instructors · Yoga Instructors · Health Coaches · Allied Health Professionals
Participants should hold an appropriate underlying professional qualification and continue to work within the scope of practice associated with that qualification.
The Level 1 certificate provides additional education in cancer exercise programming. It does not expand an individual’s existing professional scope of practice or replace appropriate medical or allied health assessment, treatment or referral.
